Does it have to be Viking?

A perfectly valid question posed by a recent customer asking about commissions. With all the enthusiasm in the world, of course not! I would be happy to make you guys anything you wanted!

So in this case, C̨ÒS̕M̕IC ̧H͞O̵R̶ŖO̴R

A fan of Cthulhian mythos imagery asked if I would make him a drinking horn as a display piece that can be used as a drinking vessel on special occasions. Budget “silver” inlay and high gloss finish, the original Elder Sign from Lovecraft’s notes cut into the holder, as well as a cypher in R'lyehian, this piece was a lot of fun to make! I started off trying to plan out the design and realised not long after I began sketching that it made no sense to try and carefully plan the ‘scribbles of esoteric madness’. In the end, most of the designs were improvised with the engraving tool as I was going along, and I’m really happy with how occult it ended up.

I think it’s also important to note that HP Lovecraft was very problematic, even in his own time. Whilst he may have inspired the cosmic horror genre, he was not responsible for the majority of the writings of the Cthulhu Mythos. Other notable authors worth reading include August Derleth, the person that organised most of the mythos into tangible concepts, and Robert Bloch, who also wrote Psycho.
